About Our Association
The Associazione Nazionale Autieri d’Italia – Sezione di Prato is a long-established volunteer organization based in Prato, Italy, with a history spanning over fifty years. Founded in 1970, it was the first section of its kind in Italy and among the earliest military associations to join the National Civil Protection system.
Our association brings together former military drivers and citizens who share a commitment to service, solidarity, and civic responsibility. We actively operate in the field of Civil Protection, providing essential logistical support during emergencies and public events. Our work includes transportation of people and materials, food supply management, and the setup of temporary facilities such as tents and field kitchens.
Our Mission
At the heart of our mission is the preservation of memory and values. We honor the history, traditions, and sacrifices of the Italian Army’s Transportation Corps, keeping alive the memory of those who served and gave their lives in duty. At the same time, we promote a strong culture of volunteerism, encouraging citizens—especially younger generations—to engage, learn, and contribute to the community.
What We Do
Our activities are both operational and cultural. On one side, we provide concrete support in emergency situations such as natural disasters, where efficiency, organization, and teamwork are essential. On the other, we take part in community life by supporting public events, sports initiatives, and collaborations with local organizations, offering logistical assistance and services.
Through our mobile kitchens and transport units, we are able to deliver large-scale assistance, including the preparation and distribution of hundreds of meals per hour when needed.
Our Values
We are a non-political and non-partisan organization built on principles of solidarity, respect, and service. Our members are united by a strong sense of duty, camaraderie, and dedication to the common good.
We believe that memory is not just about the past—it is a responsibility toward the future. By preserving history and actively serving our community, we aim to be an example of commitment, resilience, and civic spirit.
